Promise of God for
A New White Stone

The Bible gives many promises from God. We can trust each promise of God because the Bible promises that God cannot lie (Heb. 6:18). Our Lord loves each of his children here on earth, and he invites us to come with him into Heaven.

promise of God to invite us into heaven

17He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it (Rev. 2:17, NIV).

The Bread of Life spoke to each of us and promised us hidden manna. This gave us an illustration of God’s care for his people as they wandered in the wilderness for 40 years. God provided bread or manna to them in a supernatural way. Jesus, the true bread from Heaven, has always nourished his people in a supernatural way (John 6:32–35).

Our Rock of Salvation promised the victorious saints a white stone. The stone (psephos) was a small round stone used by the ancient courts.[i] The courts of justice used black pebbles to condemn and white pebbles to acquit.

The White Stone

I lived my life on earth.
I tried to follow my God.
Sometimes I had problems.
Yet, Jesus gave much grace.
One day I got sick and died.
Satan came and condemned.
Jesus dropped a white pebble.
Not guilty—Not guilty—Not guilty.

Promise of God for you

The promise of God gives … a new name written on a white stone. He means fresh or new in kind. God created each of his children in a special way. The Creator builds each person as a one-of-a-kind model. The Almighty Creator does not copy parts from one person to make another person.

When I admire the different trees in the forest or the city parks, I never see any that look bad. Some are young, and some are old. Some are healthy, some are sick, and yet each tree is beautiful. Our Father God admires each of his created people. Our God of promise yearns for each of his beautiful creations to turn to him, so that he can put a new and unique name on their white stone.

Everyone walks alone with his or her God. People who have a close bond with God know it. Many people have salvation with their Lord, and it’s … known only to him who receives it. One person cannot walk in another person’s shoes to receive salvation. As Christians, we should not try to judge someone else’s relationship with God. Perhaps, we should refine our own union with the Savior (Matt. 7:1–5).
